Michael Akana has direct relationships with industry leaders and travel suppliers and has premier access to many suppliers through leveraged sales with partner agencies. Most clients avoid consultation fees by allowing Michael to book directly with suppliers.
Writing and Program Design
In writing about industry norms, processes and trends, Michael brings a fresh perspective to the industry. Michael is co-author with Chris Grum, ECC and Scott McAlister, of the Travel Agent's Handbook, scheduled for release in Spring 2023. In addition, Michael writes about tourism and travel in the production of industry texts and scholarly papers. He also posts in consumer forums brining a professional industry perspective on consumer travel topics.
